The Hobbit

before I start with my opinion on the hobbit, I would like to argue that Blogs are not about the observations of people because thats simply not true. The world is full of people, people from different places and background and upbringing, thus when some one observes something, its simply not an observation its an opinion, of how that person reacts to whatever they are observing. Everyone sees the world differently, everyone has there one perception of what the world is like, my world is very different from yours, thus what i perceive is my own opinion on different things, thus its a bias opinion. What you have to say about what blogs are is your opinion, what I think blogs are about is my opinion, the world is built on opinions, now the question is who's opinion do we favor to be more accurate. further more I would like to tell you of my observations of the Hobbit in other words my OPINION of the Hobbit. What did I think of the hobbit was that it is what fantasy should be like, thats my observation, it was interesting also to read it in the point of view of mr. bilbo, I almost felt like I could relate to his size difference. I didn't actually read lord of the rings or the hobbit before this. I am from a different background, born in Pakistan, and moved to Canada, and then the US, I do not have the cultural background that most of the Students in the class have, also I have different religious views far different from the majority of the people in the entire school. Thus any religious references are unknown to me, Not like there are many religious aspects to the Hobbit, So I really had no idea of what kind of adventure mister bilbo bagens had been on when I first watched the Lord of the Rings, which was truly my first introduction to fantasy, if you believe me, you would think what kind of sheltered life have I been living, or what rock was I living under. Well to me when I was reading the hobbit, I was very entertained by the epic novel and I'm glad I read it. There really isn't much to say about it other than the fact, that everyone needs to read the hobbit as it is one of the essentials of fantasy. There are certain fantasy novels That I don't like, the ones that seem really cheesy (ones with unicorns talking animals and fairies), which is my opinion. A few words is all I can offer you as my opinion and observation of the book, I really have nothing much to say or react to as I read and finish a novel/book or leave it half read because I did not find it at all interesting. If in some special case I finish a Story/book/novel, which rarely happens, I think there are only a hand full of books that i've actually finished, I can only say that my only observations about the books are the images left in my mind created by my imagination, which could only be made into illustrations, my visual words to describe my opinion/observation on that particular piece of literature.

Interview with the Vampire

Alright, this book, I absolutely hate!!! worst vampire book/story ever told/written, I don't know I like the more bad ass vampires like Blade!!! Thats what a real vampire should be like, I don't like this book because its really about homosexuality basically, and I give props to the chick the was the only one to speak out in the class and say that the book sucked. I'm really not a fan of this story, because it was about a guy, that didn't have a life, then looses his family, and blames himself for it. then he really doesn't have a life, then encounters a vampire and is on the brink of death. once he becomes a vampire, he starts questioning, and thinks too much, and when learning from his master vampire, he starts to hate him and wants to help out humans, but soon realizes he can't help being a vampire, and sucks the blood of a little girl, who then is turned into a vampire by the master vampire who did the same to him. From here he becomes a story about a gay vampire couple that adopt a little girl vampire that will never grow, and is almost more evil then the both of them combined. by the time the novel ended, I felt like a part of my life was utterly wasted and I felt cheated and wronged for the time wasted while reading this book. sorry for the harsh words, but I felt that I had to be brutally honest about my opinion on this book.

Monster Island

Monster Island was freakin awesome, theres some really amazing imagery, if you read it carefully, I think if they made a really accurate movie, it would sell pretty well. I really enjoyed it, even though I didn't finish all the parts, but will do when I have time. It was a hard read for me, could be because it wasn't a conventional novel, and in the format of a blog. the Gothic elements are almost screaming at you, in all aspects of the book, even from the start when there on that boat, or when they arrive at the ruined city of New York. It definitely beats most zombie movies. Also its interesting that all the people that are civilized or lived in modern cities has become a victim of the zombie epidemic, and people that live in 3rd world countries or in harsh environments. are surviving pretty well, since they've been fighting all their life, and are use to really harsh conditions. The first part of the story was like any typical zombie setting, which I thought was a reasonable beginning to the story. The next part I did not expect, which was the turning point of being quite interesting, because its about a guy in the medical field that realizes why zombies are stupid,  and its because when they die the lack of oxygen leaves them unable to use it once the transformation takes place, so he somehow using medical equipment, preserves his brain so when he dies and is in the transformation state, he still remembers everything, and is basically a really smart zombie. all in all Monster Island is pretty awesome. and if Ringling because infested with zombies this is what it would look like:

this was done for Zombie War poster, which is an on campus event every year, during halloween. part of the Outdoor Recreation and wellness activities. essentially its a water balloon fight, where the humans have to beat the zombies with water balloons, or simply survive, but the zombies win every time.

Frankenstein

So, the first time I read frankenstein, was in high, school senior year, it was the first literary piece i read that year, which actually kept my attention and my drive to finish the book. I gotta say its one of my favorite, science fiction books, could be because I haven't really read many books at all. my views on the book is that I really found that it was very interesting, definitely not what I thought frankenstein was about. I thought Frankenstein was the name of the monster, as many people do. The book itself was over all depressing due to the fact that basically everyone dies except the monster, The gothic structure is very prevalent. there's really not much i can say about it other than that I really like this book, and it was a good start for the semester reading. I really liked how the creation of frankensteins monster occurred, theres some science involved, but as you read, the ground breaking discoveries that enabled him to re-animate a human/creature just happened which i found to be really funny. While reading, I soon discovered that victor is not the protagonist rather he's the antagonist, and his monster is the protagonist, even though he does some terrible things, but victor, with is secrets, and keeping his family in the dark, caused more harm, than good, if it weren't for his foolish desires, everything would have been fine. or even if victor, was a good guy and he helped out his creation, he could have been a so much more than, a creator running away from his creation.
